Feathered Dreams ~ Masquerade Night
It is probably every kid’s dream to attend a fancy royal ball and wear a glamorous dress or tuxedo while sipping some bubbly drink. Well, JSA’s Ball Committee specifically aims to turn those dreams to reality and offer all JU students a magical evening!
The Winter Banquet has just passed and left everyone with strong feelings of longing. So, how about a quick recap of one of the most memorable events of the year?
This year’s theme was Royal Masquerade and the banquet was held, as usual, at Elite Hotel, on the 16th of November. Guests started arriving around 5pm , showing off their best attire and of course, their most sophisticated masks, ready to mingle, take photos and enjoy a nice selection of champagne and small snacks. The addition of beautiful masks to the all extravagant outfits offered the ball an equally mysterious and enchanting atmosphere, as if everyone could conceal their real identities and be whoever they wish.
After an hour, the doors to the main room opened and everyone took their assigned seats. The venue might truly be what tied everything together, as the lavish chandeliers and detailed paintings on the walls and ceiling actually transported us back into the 15th century, in the time of royal balls and masquerades.
The toastmasters hosted the entire evening and held out numerous small games and competitions, but that was not all the entertainment the guests received, as there were artistic performances given by both a local dance club and the JSA board members. And not to forget, food was served all throughout the night, ranging from fresh appetizers and savory main courses to intricate and sweet desserts, accompanied by drinks to go along with them.
It was an absolutely magic evening and we hope that those of you who attended had just as much fun. But if you missed it, don’t fret!
Ball Committee organizes 2 events each year, the Summer Ball and the Winter Banquet, both aimed for students from all schools at JU, unlike the common belief that it is exclusively for JIBS students. So, if you study at JTH, HLK or Hälsohögskolan and thought that this might not be an event for you, we have good news! The Ball team will be more than delighted to see you at Summer Ball!
