A Sprinkle of Sugar – Recipes
Christmas is upon us, and those who celebrate it may describe it as the sweetest holiday of the year. Let us make it even sweeter for you with these Christmas recipes.
Lusse Coffee
Inspired by the infamous Swedish “lussekatt”, this coffee will make studying for exams seem a little more bearable. Adjust the ingredients to fit your taste.
Ingredients for 1-2 cups
0,5 g of saffron
1 tbsp of cane sugar
Half a cup of milk
Half a cup of coffee
Instructions
Pour half a cup of milk into a pot (you can use your regular drinking mug). Turn on low heat and wait for the milk to simmer.
Grab a shot glas and pour in the saffran. Add a dash of warm milk into the glass, enough to cover the spice.
Pour the cane sugar (for a more caramel taste) into the milkpot and stir until dissolved.
Add in the saffron.
Depending on what you have at home: brew a cup of coffee and add the saffran milk or add instant coffee into the pot (to your taste).
Pour it into your favourite mug and enjoy.
Gingerbread Chocolate Cake
Sharing is the best way to enjoy any baked goods, especially around Christmas. Gather your friends and enjoy this twist on a Swedish classic “kladdkaka” (sticky chocolate cake).

Let cool for 15 minutes.
Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and enjoy.
