After a long break, one of the most talked-about student events is finally making a comeback. Firebowl, the themed student party known for bringing together international and Swedish students, is back with a new team and new upgrades!
The feedback has been huge. I’ve heard that former students are coming back to Jönköping this week just to go to Firebowl, says Ghadah, one of the event organizers.
Firebowl is making an exciting comeback this week with a Y2K-themed party on Thursday evening at Fabriken. Not only will everyone be dressed in iconic Y2K-outfits, but the entire venue will also be transformed. From the music to the decorations, everything follows the theme – down to the cups.
Our goal is to make people feel as if they have stepped into a time traveling machine back to the 2000s, says Yasmine, one of the event organizers.
The comeback also brings exciting upgrades. The newest additions to Firebowl are the stations, such as the vanity station, where guests can get accessories to match the party’s theme. There will also be a photobooth for everyone to snap some fun pictures in.
Most of all, we want to put a larger emphasis on decorations. Visually, it matters how well the club matches the theme, says Yasmine.
New Team, New Era
But that’s not all that’s new! Another change to Firebowl is the team behind it. Since the previous team no longer had time for Firebowl, a new team has now stepped in. The team consists of Patrick, who does the administrative work, Ghadah, responsible for marketing and visuals, Yasmine, who handles decoration and design, and Todor, who coordinates the DJs and other important contacts.
All of us have worked with event coordination before, so I’m really excited to see our ideas come to life and watch people enjoy them, says Ghadah.
What’s Next?
The plan is to have a Firebowl every month, with a different theme and different activities. After this week’s Y2K-event, the next event will be held at Halloween. For now, the team is brainstorming on events after that, hinting at a pajama party.
The History of Firebowl
Firebowl was originally created as a student party by internationals, for internationals, in 2022. Many clubs in Jönköping felt very “Swedish”, leaving few spaces for international students to feel at home. Over time, the party grew in popularity and now welcomes everyone, making it one of campus most beloved events.
Whether you’re new in town or returning just for this, Firebowl promises a night to remember!
