I’m sure you’ve heard of Life, I’m sure you’ve maybe even been to an event or two, at the very least I’m sure you’ve seen posts on Instagram marketing the new event. The last few months have been buzzing with a new sort of excitement around this addition to Jönköping nightlife but have you heard of the three brains behind the business? You know, the three guys who often make appearances in the very videos that pop up on your Instagram? If you haven’t, let me be the first to formally introduce you to Arseni, Raivo and Sebastian.
Arseni is 20 years old from Belarus, in his second year of International Management, Raivo is 19, half Belgian, half Swedish in his first year also studying International Management and Sebastian is 23, born and raised in Malta doing his first year of Marketing Management. Aside from them all being students at our very own Jönköping International Business School, the three of them have another thing in common, a vision to liven up Jönköping nightlife for all students. Thus was born the idea of the event we’ve all come to know and love, “Life”.
Raivo and Sebastian go way back to their first kick-off in 2024 becoming fast friends and bonding over the need for something more than just the limited options for nightlife activities, having countless conversations where they fantasized about running their own event that would meet the needs they felt were commonly missing amongst students in the city. The two of them decided it was time to bring their conversation to life and were then introduced to Arseni who had long mulled over the same idea but struggled to find the right people to make it a reality. Unsurprisingly the three of them decided then to join forces with a common goal in mind – creating a place for students to go, be themselves, listen to good music, vibe out and have fun.
I won’t get too much into the nitty gritty of it all, you’ll have to wait for the fall issue coming out in August next semester for all of behind the scenes details of Life as a business in itself but for now here’s a few fun facts about the guys so you feel comfortable enough to go say hi to them the next time you’re at Life. Raivo decided that after a ton of event organizing in Belgium he wouldn’t get into the same thing once he moved to Jönköping (we all see how great that turned out), he also somehow managed to fall asleep in a wine cellar in a castle in Italy one time. Sebastian is a major sneaker head with a collection of 80 pairs of shoes and he’s a golfer guy with a 6 handicap (basically he could go pro). Arseni survived higher level math in IB (if you know, you know) and he used to fence competitively at an international level.
Life is for everyone and their goal stands as wanting to create a fun, safe inclusive environment. And that’s exactly why each of them appreciates everyone who comes up and says hi and lets them know what they think and how they are feeling before, during and after each event. Maybe I’ll see you at the next Life on March 28th, for now, happy exam season friends, good luck 🙂
