Soon it is time for the annual charity event on campus, hosted by our very own student run radio station — Radio K. EDIT has been chatting with the Head of Radio K, Olivia Hyltse, to get all the deets for this year’s Radio K Bryr Sig.
What is “Radio K Bryr Sig”?
It is Radio K’s annual charity event, where we, similar to Musikhjälpen, livestream for 36 hours to collect money for a good cause. The event takes place on December 3rd to 4th, and all the money collected goes to a fundraiser that we have at Musikhjälpen 2024, where this year’s theme is: “Everyone has the right to survive their pregnancy.”
Is there a schedule?
“There is, but it will be posted when we get closer to the event. So sadly, I cannot share it right now. However, what I can share is that the event starts at 10:00 on December 3rd and ends at 22:00 on December 4th, and takes place at Rio Café.”
What can we expect from this year’s event?
“Lots of fun! We will have quizzes and artists both days! And then there will be competitions between sexmästerierna on the 3rd, and a Christmas Market on the 4th. Besides this, we will have interviews, “rimstuga,” some cozy Christmas stuff, and much more! A side note is that the majority of the live podcast will be in Swedish.”
Any special guests?
“Yes! Multiple organizations will come and talk about this year’s theme. We will also have some artists, such as the band Monreau, who will both talk and perform. Then we will end the event with DJ Norell. “
How can we take part of this?
“We will have a live podcast at Rio Café, where you (students) are welcome at any time. You can also follow the event digitally through Twitch, which you can find on our website: www.rkbs.se. On our website, you will also be able to find lots of auctions that you are able to bid on. All the money from the auctions goes to Musikhjälpen 2024.”
And what about the Christmas Market?
“The Christmas Market will take place on the 4th of December, 12:00-14:00, outside the JU library at Campus Torg. Here students will be able to buy awesome patches and spin the lucky wheel and win amazing prizes. You will also be able to purchase a lottery ticket for a small amount, and then be guaranteed a Christmas gift. We will also be joined by some companies, utskott, and sexmästerier. And there will be a food truck!”

Radio K will attend the Jönköping City Julskyltning on December 1st, between 12-18. Come by and we can chat more about the event! 🙂
