Spring Feelings Around Campus
Spring vibes? Finally!
The Swedish seasons are something that we are particularly known for since they can differ a lot from each other, and it can be difficult to adapt to them, especially for international students at Jönköping University.
During the past semester we have been going through the end of summer, to a rainy and windy autumn, to winter in a matter of months. For a lot of students, the winter months can feel rather sad than motivational. Having to walk through piles of snow while it’s freezing outside might not be the most ideal and exciting way to walk to school in the morning. But as we are getting further into the new semester here on campus and closing in on our last few months until summer, we are also leaving the cold and dark winter months behind us. The snow is melting away, it’s getting warmer, and the sun is finally present for more than a few hours during the day, unlike what it’s been for months. Birds are suddenly chirping, and flowers are sprouting – The spring vibes are finally here!
At the HLK entrance, students are enjoying their meals by the warm sun rays, indicating that spring is finally here and that it has been missed!
What is your favorite thing about spring?
“Definitely the sun! It’s the best thing to sunbathe!“
“All the different flowers that’s growing. Spring is so colorful, and I love the mood in general!”: Says a group of HLK students while enjoying early spring at the entrance, and it is not wrong!
The Swedish spring is known for being very beautiful because of our colorful nature, sunny days, and rich culture. The days are rapidly getting longer and longer and the sunlight even lasts past the evenings. You could even experience midnight sun in the furthest northern part of Sweden, which means that the sun lasts all day long! Around Jönköping, restaurants are starting to open their outdoor areas, which is perfect if you want to take a fika while soaking in the sun.
Campus is the most beautiful in spring since it is filled with joyful students that very much enjoy the sunlight and warmth that spring brings us. A campus filled with spring vibes! And who knows, you might even be able to catch the Cherry blossoms blooming on campus!
