What Do Your Dreams Actually Mean?
There are dreams many of us share, dreams that we cannot quite explain or understand. Many dreams have a deeper meaning than one might think and are often seen as a segway into our mind and thoughts, connecting to our everyday lives. Have you ever woken up from a very interesting or unsettling dream that you have not been able to crack or break down?
Here are some deeper meanings behind the dreams many of us share.
Falling:
Dreams about falling are extremely common, and for the most part, share a similar meaning. It is said that a dream about falling means that something in your life needs to be rethought or changed. This dream might suggest that you change a decision you have made, change from a path you are currently on or to rethink an important life event. Overall emotions that can be connected to such dreams can be feeling overwhelmed about something, feeling like you are losing control in life, or feelings of inadequacy.
Do you think this is true?
Nudity/ feeling exposed:
Dreams about walking around naked can mean many different things. Some say these types of dreams mean you are growing more confident and careless, however a more popular interpretation of this dream is that you are feeling vulnerable in a situation you are currently facing. Naked dreams can also symbolize your fear of exposing your insecurities and doubts to friends and family or that a change in your life is stressing you out.
Falling in love:
Dreams about falling in love can indicate different things. It can mean that you are feeling emotionally open to start up something new with someone, or that you are missing someone to feel close and connected to. Qualities presented in your partner can often be translated to qualities you wish for a partner in real life and qualities you value within yourself and others.
Someone dying:
Dreams about someone dying can stem from different things. Someone dying in a dream can represent a big change in your life that you are having a hard time dealing with, this change can be both good and bad. Dreams about you or someone else dying may also signify the ending of a chapter in your life, or the desire to move on from something or someone. Death in many ways symbolizes endings, whether that be of a relationship, a job or an experience.
However, death does not only symbolize an ending, but a new beginning. A dream about death can also be about you moving on from something that had been weighing you down for a long time.
Being chased:
Being chased and unable to escape is a dream many of us have had to live through. It is often said that this dream is coming from your subconscious, trying to tell you to stop running from a problem you are facing. Running away from your problems, avoiding confrontation and fear of responsibility are emotions often connected to these types of dreams. A feeling of stress and being overwhelmed can make one dream about running away from their inner demons.
Have you ever had this dream?
Being pregnant:
Different cultures have different perspectives on the meaning behind pregnancy dreams. In some cultures, dreaming about being pregnant can mean that the dreamer is very stressed and anxious, where the responsibility of someone else’s life is in the dreamers hands. In other cultures, dreams about pregnancy are a reflection of the pregnant women’s new found growth where they feel the emotional maturity to grow as a person and experience new things.
Dreams can have many different meanings, depending on the culture and interpretation chosen. However many different interpretations there may be, many cultures see dreams as something much deeper than a state of mind, but something that can be connected to our personal life- both positive and negative.
