Which Halloween Movie Should You Watch Tonight?
Throughout the years, it has been a tradition to hold Halloween movie marathons before the big day, but are you running out of good movies to watch? Here are some of the most ever watched classics, for those looking for a good scare and those simply looking for comfort.
Here for you are some of the most popular Halloween movies of all time- scary and non-scary, that are perfect for your movie marathons!
1. The Nightmare Before Christmas: (1993)
With 91 million watchers, this movie blew the world away. This movie is great to watch by yourself, with friends and with family. The nightmare before christmas is the perfect halloween movie for those who are not as eager to watch scary movies, but it still captures the feeling and essence of the holiday. The movie is about the pumpkin king, Jack Skellington whose mission is to spread Christmas joy around his village, a mission that takes dark turns and instead becomes all kids’ worst nightmares. A Tim Burton production made entirely out of clay and stop motion.
2. Corpse Bride: (2005)
Another one of Tim Burton’s classic Halloween successes, Corpse Bride with over 118 million watches is definitely deserving to be watched before Halloween. Corpse Bride, is a story about Emily, a woman who is woken up from the dead by Viktor, a living man. Viktor has a woman waiting for him at home and a corpse bride who believes he is her soulmate. How is Emily back from the dead, who killed her? Who will Victor choose? A stop motion movie that not only captures all the Halloween feels, but also makes us laugh and cry. Once again, the perfect motion picture for those who do not like jumpscares but still enjoy watching the movies.
3. Sleepy Hollow: (1999)
If you thought we were done with Tim Burton, you are sorely mistaken. Any Halloween fanatic knows that all his work has become legendary. However, Sleepy Hollow is definitely one of his most famous works. With 206 million watches, the movie is very well known to this day. The movie is based on an old folklore published by Washington Irving in the 1800s. The movie is about a man named Ichabod Crane, who comes to the town of Sleepy Hollow in order to help solve the mystery of recurring decapitations in the town. This movie is a little bit creepier than the first two, but is more focused on building tension than jumpscares, good for those who scare easily.

4. Scream (1996):
With over 173 million watches, the original Scream movie is a classic for any movie marathon. This horror film follows the main character, Sidney Prescott, a highschool student, and all her friends who are being followed and stalked by a masked man who wants to play games with the teenagers. This masked killer uses old horror movies and quizzes the kids as part of a game. Answer correct, and you live, answer wrong, and you better run. If you love a good, chilling movie that will leave you sleepless for the night, the original Scream movie is the choice for you.
5. The Exorcist (1973)
The Exorcist is a movie that many have heard of before. This 1973 movie blew many minds, with its originality and horror. The story follows a young girl and her demonic possession, as well as her mothers attempt to rescue her with the help of two catholic priests. This movie is full of supernatural occurrences and will leave you hugging your pillow in fear.
6. The Shining (1980)
The Shining is by far one of the scariest, most popular, most heard of horror movies. This terrifying story is about a man named Jack, who is hired as a caretaker of a historical hotel during its off season. Jack proceeds to move into the hotel with his wife and child, where his son gets an insight of the hotel’s horrific past with his psychic abilities. The evil inside of the hotel eventually deteriorates Jack’s sanity, leading him to turn on his family. A truly disturbing film such as the shining is perfect for thrill seekers looking for a good scare.
