On April 17th, Spring Inspiration history was made with the airing of their first digital fashion show, available all around the world. For an hour, models were walking the catwalk at Kinnarps Arena showing off fashion from various designers and brands, with a DJ pumping music in the background, together with dance, live music and competitions.
The evening started a few hours before the event for those who ordered a tapas plate. They found two guys sitting in the window of Science Park, almost like manikins to spread that fashion vibe from the start. The two were Elliot Stolpestad and Carl Schölin, from the Spring Inspiration sponsor team, masked up and in a corona safe way ready to hand out tapas and well stuffed goodie bags.
“Good luck on the bingo!” said Carl before the door closed.
7:00 PM the screen lit up and shifted to the stage where the Showtime dance group appeared starring Molly Monaghan, Marta Hrkalovic, and EDIT’s very own Benson Mujuzi. They kickstarted the evening with an urban blend of hip hop and dancehall, and some bits of contemporary. Throughout the show Charlotta Herkommer and Jacob Bergengren guided the viewers through fashion, competitions and entertainment, from Jacob’s barber-que jokes to a more serious topic, violence against children. Spring Inspiration has been working with the charity organization Erikshjälpen and their ambition to stop violence against children, to whom donations could be done by the viewers during the night.
From outdoor clothes by Revolution Race to wedding gowns by Noyemi Couture X Melina Criborn, the Spring Inspiration models showed off fashion with different styles for various tastes to music mixed by the DJ of the night, Nils Claesson. All models had been styled by Kalufsmakarn Hårdesign, who did their hair, Brinellgymnasiet, who did their makeup. The 24 models have been selected by the Spring Inspiration model team, in collaboration with the leading agency in Scandinavia, MIKAs. All the participating designers’ collections are now available, and the designers are: STIL, Noyemi Couture X Melina Criborn, De | Formables, SåiniNordeN, Revolution Race, Ciszere, Butik Lysalie and Optiker Jahnke.
The last collection that was shown was Spring Inspiration’s own collection made by their design team, with recycled materials that was collected together with Erikshjälpen in Jönköping, where the collection now also can be bought. In between the models walking the catwalk, the singing duo Malin and Amanda invited the viewers to a few minutes of music. Together they set the vibe for the rest of the night by harmonizing to some of Sweden’s biggest hits; Tough Love, Emmylou and Without You.
Before ending the night, no other than this year’s project managers Cajsa Malmström and Malin Sunnefeldt, showed up on stage thanking each other, the hosts, teams, sponsors, designers and viewers for making this night happen. But also summarizing the journey from a year ago when they got the roles as project managers.
“This year has included both ups and downs, and we are so happy that we finally are standing here tonight and been able to show you guys what we have been working on”, said Malin just a few moments before Spring Inspiration 2021 came to an end.
